The Intersection of Disagreement and Unity

What should determine which church(es) you should or shouldn't make your home church?
One idea I've heard a lot is that if you find yourself in disagreement with the pastor you should stay away. Also, I've heard that if you disagree with any (minor or major) tenets of that specific church, you shouldn't make that your home church.

I disagree with these ideas. I think if you disagree with what you consider a major tenet of the church, then you probably shouldn't make it a home church. Also, if your disagreement with the pastor is serious then you probably shouldn't go. But having small disagreements with the tenets or the pastor, in my opinion, isn't enough to make it not worth staying at that church.

I think to say that about the pastor is to forget about the power of the Holy Spirit, which can talk and convict even through sermons one may disagree with. As far as tenets go...TBC
