As one of my favorite bands, As Cities Burn, says "I think our God isn't God if He fits inside our heads." God is incomprehensible. So in order to understand God, we use human relationships and apply them to our relationship with God. I'm not implying we don't actually have these kinds of relationships with God, but our relationship with Him is so much more than could be encompassed in one relationship. So I'm just making a list of the relationships with God that have helped me.
1) God is Our Father
God protects us. God is way smarter than we could ever be.
2)God is Our Lover
We can tell God all of our most intimate thoughts.
3) God is Our Friend
God wants to hear the small stuff in our lives as well as the large things. God wants to hang out with us.
4) God is the Leader of A Revolution of Love
God is orchestrating a restoration of universe, to make it into the best it could be. We are meant to be a part of that. We are to give all of our selves and our lives to the cause.
5) God is The One Who Save(d/s) Us
Without God we would be dead, at least spiritually, or even physically. All our life comes from.
6) God is Mother Nature
The point is two-fold. God is present in all things, because all things come from nature. Since God is all of nature, He is able to control what people do to some extent through nature.
